"APS Teammates, let me begin by stating how honored I have been to serve as your Superintendent for these last seven years. We have transformed the district, both internally and externally, for the betterment of our students. I am sincerely proud to have been a member of the APS Team, and it has been a privilege to be part of this noble profession of education with all of you." - Superintendent John L. Barry |
"I think the current APS mission statement is a great statement of what we want to get done," he said. "And we need to make sure that each step along the way, students are learning at grade level. If you're doing that, then you are reducing remediation rates." - Incoming APS Superintendent D. Rico Munn |
Congratulations to the more than 2,700 students who recently graduated from Aurora Central, Gateway, Hinkley, Rangeview, William Smith and APS Online high schools, as well as Pickens Technical College and the Rebound Ombudsman program. The graduating class of 2013 earned nearly $6 million in scholarships. Our preschoolers from Kids Tech, the class of 2026, also celebrated their graduation as they prepare to head to kindergarten. |
Twelve Aurora Public Schools students are on cloud nine after finding out that they had earned a Boettcher, Daniel’s Fund or Gates Millennium scholarship. Aurora Central senior Kushmakar Baral is a Daniels Fund and Gates scholar, a feat not often accomplished. He plans to study biomedical engineering at University of Colorado at Boulder. |
Aurora Quest K-8 seventh grade student Pranit Nanda has shown that he knows his geography. His sharp skills have made him into one of the state's top Geography Bee standouts and he recently competed in the 25th annual National Geographic Bee in Washington, D.C. |
