Aurora LIGHTS Open House Dazzles APS Community

Central Health Sciences Open House Aurora Central High School’s Aurora LIGHTS students recently gave the APS community a sneak peak at the amazing things they have been up to this year during an open house.

Hosted in the school’s Health Sciences Academy wing, students ran demonstrations of three major areas of study that they are learning about: Principles of Biomedical Sciences, Medical Interventions and Human Body Systems. Dr. Matt Rustici and students from the University of Colorado School of Medicine also demonstrated suturing techniques. Attendees participated in some of the demonstrations and received tours of the new bond-funded science wing.

The Aurora LIGHTS health sciences program was established in 2009 with a $3.9 million grant.
