Side Creek Welcomes Library Makeover
Side Creek Elementary recently received a much-needed library makeover supported by dozens of APS staff members across the district.
The Side Creek library received several spare library shelves when Aurora Hills Middle School moved into their new building over the winter break. The shelving added more space for new books and more library space for students in addition to saving thousands of dollars.
To complete the library project, Side Creek Principal Suzanne Morris-Sherer purchased a matching circulation desk and art teacher Lynn Prevecek created window coverings with a stained-glass look. The library staff added student art work, book characters and plants to finish the room.
"This was a huge undertaking that required the effort of many APS staff members who deserve thanks, starting with Aurora Hills staff and students. To the staff and students of Side Creek, who lived with the noise and inconvenience while the library underwent the extreme makeover, it was all worth it!"
- Jan Novak, Director of Library Services
