Second Grade “Meteorologists” Meet CBS4′s Dave Aguilera

Fletcher Weather exerciseWritten by Brittany Philipsen

The second graders at Fletcher Primary School have been learning about air and weather.  They have been conducting experiments to learn about air pressure and air resistance, observing different types of weather and using weather instruments and tools to find out information about the weather.

Dave Aguilera from CBS4 visited the second graders recently to demonstrate and talk about what he does as a meteorologist.  With the help of some students, Aguilera showed and talked about some of the instruments he uses:  a weather balloon, thermometers and an anemometer.  He even made a tornado in the classroom!  The second grade students enjoyed the visit from Aguilera, and some of them hope to become meteorologists someday.
