Approximately 4,000 Aurora Public Schools students accepted an invitation to stay in school for a few more weeks this year. The students are participating in a program called the “Fifth Block of Instruction.” Now in its fifth consecutive year, the voluntary program is offered to students who have shown academic growth during the year but need more learning time to become proficient. The program runs now through June 28 and provides a total of 23 extra days of instruction focused on math and literacy.
