Mural Project Lights Up Children’s Hospital Colorado

Many Hands Create ArtAurora Public Schools recently participated in a special community art project at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

A host of artistic minds collaborated to create 85 murals to adorn the construction fencing surrounding Children’s Colorado’s new east tower expansion. The art project, which began in late 2011, brought patients, families, nurses, physicians and hospital staff together while providing a transformative experience for the entire Aurora community. Students and staff from Aurora Frontier P-8, Fletcher Primary School, Murphy Creek P-8 and Side Creek Elementary School participated in the project.

“This could be the start of something big for Children’s Hospital,” said APS Traveling Art Show volunteer Jacqueline DeLangie.
