Celebrate the 2012-2013 School Year!
The APS Board of Education and Superintendent John L. Barry invite you to celebrate the beginning of the 2012-13 school year.
Thursday, August 9
Aurora Hills Middle School
1009 South Uvalda Street
Aurora, Colorado 80012
Thanks to the generous support of Aurora voters, 2008 bond funds have provided for building and technology improvements throughout Aurora Public Schools, including a new Aurora Hills Middle School.
The new school replaces a 1973 building constructed without windows, classroom walls or doors. The new school benefits students and the entire community by providing a much improved learning environment for the Aurora Hills International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. The installation of athletic fields will be completed by October 2012.
The new Aurora Hills Middle School is a two-story building featuring a brick and glass exterior with separate learning communities for each grade level. The school plans were developed in consultation with a design advisory group including community members and school staff. The school serves more than 900 students.
