Aurora schools, city bolster ties after shootings

AURORA, Colo. (AP) — A partnership between Aurora Public Schools and city leaders is taking on new significance after the July 20 shootings that killed 12 people and injured 58 at a movie theater. The two sides announced the partnership Thursday, starting with a moment of silence to honor the victims. The agreement will give students hands-on job experience in the city work force and in city government. It also provides for the city and schools to share some facilities.
