Lansing Celebrates New Look with Community

APS Superintendent John Barry helps cut the ribbon with Lansing Elementary students while Lansing Principal Ann Berns and APS Board Member Cathy Wildman looks on.
Members of the Aurora community, including past and present APS staff members, recently celebrated the building remodel at Lansing Elementary Community School.
The remodel expanded the school’s capacity from 313 to 514 students. The design includes classroom additions, a new front entrance and an addition to house the district’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing program. The project also includes parking lot expansion and site improvements.
Thanks to bond dollars approved by Aurora voters in 2008, Lansing was one of three APS schools to receive building additions and improvements over the summer.
