North Middle School Health Science and Technology Campus uses mill levy funds for literacy, science, and math intervention for students. The mill levy funds, which were approved by Aurora voters in 2012, are improving student achievement in these critical learning areas.
"We choose students to target for intervention based on proficiency levels determined by Acuity testing data," said North principal Gerardo De La Garza. "In doing so, the students have shown tremendous growth in reading comprehension, science and numeracy, and fundamental math understanding. We have seen students gain confidence and transfer understanding to other content areas. This has been a beneficial program in helping to close the achievement gap for our students."
Thank you, Aurora voters!
