APS Staff Participate in Bike to Work Day

Bike to Work Day 2015

Congratulations to APS staff members who participated in Bike to Work Day on June 24! Some staff members left their cars at home and pedaled to work on two wheels, saving energy, lessening pollution and improving their health. Other staff members from the Division of Human Resources and the Aurora Welcome Center helped out at one of the many Bike to Work aid and refreshment stations throughout the metro area.

The Aurora Public Schools Division of Human Resources and the Aurora Welcome Center co-sponsored a Breakfast Station from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at ESC 4. The breakfast station provided a light breakfast for all bicyclists on their way to work. The APS/Aurora Welcome Center station, which was located on the east side of ESC 4 along Peoria St., was one of only four locations in Aurora to serve as a staging stop for the event.

Each year nearly 30,000 commuters leave their vehicles behind to enjoy the benefits of getting to work on their bikes. Bike to Work is sponsored by WaytoGo.org under the auspices of the Denver Regional Council of Governments.

Thanks to all the staff members who helped make Bike to Work Day a great success!
