APS Students Sing to the Heavens at Music Conference

Colorado Elementary All State ChoirCongratulations to students from a handful of APS schools who recently sang as part of a 200-person choir at the Colorado Music Educator's Conference.

Fourth and fifth graders from Aurora Quest K-8 and Jewell and Park Lane elementary schools auditioned, earned a spot on the Colorado Elementary All-State Choir and performed at the annual event, which was held in Colorado Springs at The Broadmoor. Preparation included hours of practice with school teachers and music conductors to ensure the best of the best made it to the big show. Students learned and applied a variety of skills to their work, including synchronicity, teamwork, and inner courage. More than 1,500 families and teachers attended and witnessed the students showcasing their cherished extracurricular talent. Clearly, these students personified the APS 2020 core belief that every student has unique abilities that we must recognize and engage.
