Happy Read Across America Day!

Sixth Avenue Elementary School Teachers

If you happen to come across a Fox in Sox, discover there’s a Wocket in Your Pocket or see someone eating Green Eggs and Ham today, don’t be alarmed. It’s Dr. Seuss Day!

The national observance, formally known as Read Across America Day, celebrates the children’s book author whose playful stories have fostered a love of reading in many generations of youth.

Aurora Public Schools students, staff, parents and community members are joining in on the fun by engaging in classroom story time. Volunteers are flooding our schools to bring books to life for students, exemplifying the APS 2020: Shaping the Future strategic plan core belief that students, families, staff and community members share the responsibility for student achievement.
