Thermodynamics sounds like a challenging college-level course, but that didn’t stop Arkansas Elementary students from learning all about it in a recent visit from a college professor. Scott Denning, a climate scientist from Colorado State University, taught several principles of thermodynamics to the 4th grade classes at Arkansas.
Thermodynamics deals with the relations between heat and other forms of energy. It’s an important part of understanding the Earth’s climate and weather patterns. Climate scientists, like Denning, study the long-term trends of Earth’s weather patterns and help forecast expected changes in those trends. In Aurora Public Schools, we believe students, families, staff and community members share the responsibility for student achievement. Thank you Professor Denning for helping our students shape successful futures!
