Clyde Miller P-8 school recently hosted a grand opening ceremony to celebrate their newly-updated playground. Students, staff, parents and community partners gathered to unveil the new equipment.

Thanks to two generous grants from The Colorado Health Foundation and Great Outdoors Colorado, Clyde Miller was able to update its current playground and add an entirely new one. The project boasts challenging, nature-themed equipment, a one-fourth mile walking trail, an outdoor classroom and lots of trees that provide shade.

Representatives from GOCO and the City of Aurora joined in the celebration, as well as APS Board members Barbara Yamrick and Eric Nelson.

Clyde Miller’s student body is comprised of over 540 preschool through eighth-grade students. The new equipment encourages students of all ages to enjoy the outdoors and stay active.

Thank you to everyone who made this project possible!
