Students and staff at Vaughn Elementary are enjoying new spaces thanks to bond-funded improvements.
In the school’s library, a door was installed between the adjoining computer center and the library space significantly reducing noise and providing a quieter atmosphere for students. The bookcases were adapted to make them mobile, which allows more flexibility in the space. An interactive whiteboard and a fresh coat of paint were also added to the room.
“It’s provided us more resources for teaching. Things are more accessible to kids so they’re reading more.” Librarian Ann Hobbs said of the changes.
Vaughn’s front office also received a facelift with new furniture and a new a window to the adjourning clinic.
In addition to these bond-funded renovations, Vaughn will also be receiving a security vestibule to its front entrance, which will provide an added measure of safety at the building.
