APS Nurse Honored

The National Association of School Nurses named APS nurse Sue McCarroll to their Academy of Fellows. This honor is bestowed upon professional members who have made significant, unique, and extraordinary achievements to the advancement of the specialty practice of school nursing.

“I am honored that my work has not only impacted students in Aurora Public Schools but has also made a difference in the nursing profession as a whole,” McCarroll said.

NASN is a non-profit specialty nursing organization, which represents school nurses exclusively. NASN has more than 11,000 members and 51 School Nurse Associations.

McCarroll adds this award to the numerous honors she has received for her dedication to school nursing. Last year, the NASN selected her as the National School Nurse Administrator of the Year after winning the award at the state level.

McCarroll has worked for Aurora Public Schools for eleven years and has been the APS Health Services Coordinator for five years.
