APS Festival of the Arts Celebrates Student Artists and Musicians

Artwork and music by students from Aurora Public Schools will be featured at the annual Festival of the Arts, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Aurora Central High School. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend.

The festival features artwork, events and activities for the entire family. Works of sculpture, watercolor, drawings and paintings will be on display. Live performances by jazz musicians, choirs, wind ensembles, drama groups and slam poets will also be featured. There will be activities for all ages such as games, face painting and spin-art as well as hands-on workshops and demonstrations. The festival is the result of collaboration between art and music teachers from all APS elementary, middle and high schools.

“The Festival of the Arts is evidence that the arts are alive and thriving at APS because of the strong support of parents, teachers and staff. The event proves that art is highly valued in Aurora,” Rangeview High School art teacher Peter Illig said.

Aurora Central High School is located at 11700 E. 11 th Ave.
