Aurora Public Schools Celebrates 2004 Bond Projects
| APS will hold open houses at two elementary schools to celebrate recently completed bond improvements. Community members are invited to see how the district is putting their tax dollars to work at open houses scheduled Sept. 29, 6-7:30 p.m., at Crawford Elementary, 1600 Florence St., and Oct. 7, 5:30-7 p.m., at Fulton Elementary, 755 Fulton St.
“As a result of our bond project, we now have five new classrooms, a functioning heating and air conditioning system, and a beautiful foyer and office space,” said Crawford Principal Debbie Gerkin. “We’d like to thank Aurora voters for making these building improvements possible.”
The Crawford bond project funded new kindergarten and music classrooms and a remodeled lobby and office area. In addition, a new heating and air conditioning system and building renewal improvements were completed in 2003.
Fulton Principal Michelle Krawchik said, “ This bond remodel project has given the students and staff an optimal learning environment. The excitement and pride shared by the students and staff in our ‘new school’ has led us into a year filled with possibility.”
Fulton’s bond project included a new heating and air conditioning system, classroom renovation and building additions to increase classroom space and media resources.
APS construction teams completed 14 bond projects during the summer. The projects were funded with bond dollars approved by district voters in 2002.
