Aurora Public Schools Kids Meet and Play Basketball with the Denver Nuggets

On Thursday, Jan. 19, Kroenke Sports Enterprises and the Denver Nuggets are giving 150 Aurora Public Schools K-12 students the chance to play basketball with some of the Denver Nuggets.  Players and assistant coaches will offer tips from their “Read to Achieve Program,” conduct mini-clinics, and pose for pictures.  Students were selected to attend this “Rewards” event based on attendance, citizenship and scholarship. Students will receive goody bags filled with school supplies, notebooks and Nuggets’ memorabilia.

“Students will have the opportunity to meet professional athletes who they see as their heroes,” explains Angela Hutton-Howard, Aurora Education Foundation Executive Director.  “The Aurora Education Foundation is pleased to work with Kroenke Sports and the Denver Nuggets for the second year to offer students a unique experience to intermingle with professional athletes.  The students will be inspired to achieve as well as realize there are rewards for their academic efforts.”
