APS Superintendent to Begin Town Hall Meetings

Superintendent John L. Barry is changing the way Aurora Public Schools does business. He wants to get directly in touch with parents and the community.

So now, the Aurora Public School District is holding two town hall meetings for the public to share their views on the district.  During these community conversations, Superintendent John L. Barry and the APS Board of Education will discuss what is working in the district and what changes are needed.

This is a brand new strategy for APS.  Superintendent John L. Barry says, "There is no greater feedback than one-on-one conversation.  We are looking forward to learning from the people who entrust their children to us."

The meetings will be held:

Thursday, Oct. 5
Aurora Frontier K-8
3200 S. Jericho Way
6:30 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 12
West Middle School
10100 E. 13th Ave.
6:30 p.m.

Barry has been on a VISTA listening tour since he started with the district in July. The feedback from these listening tours will be used to develop a strategic plan that builds on what has been done and gets us ready for the next three to five years.

Barry will be available for interviews prior to and after the event.
