The principal of Peoria Elementary School may soon be sporting a new hair do—that is if his students have anything to say in the matter.
When Principal Harry Chan heard about his students partnering with the American Cancer Society to raise cancer awareness in their school he decided to raise the ante.
If every student from every class donated and performed in classroom skits to raise cancer awareness he would dye his hair purple.
The Peoria student body accepted the challenge by participating in school activities and spirit days all this week.
Find out if the principal will get a new purple pompadour at a pep rally this Friday, April 13, along with special guest cancer survivors and Denver Nuggets player Mark Randell.
Peoria teachers will also dye their do’s purple for students who donated in their individual classrooms.
After the pep rally the whole school will walk around the track in support of cancer research and then classrooms will take individual walks.
Special thanks to the Beauty Supply Warehouse located at 13870 E 6th Ave. for donating all the purple dye.
