FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.

MAKING APS A SAFER PLACE TO WORK AND LEARN

APS staff members are logging on to their computers to make their schools safer.

In April, all APS staff members began SafeSchools online training.  The online scenario-based exercises train staff to handle a wide variety of school safety issues from on the job hazards to school violence and bullying to conflict management.

The training is published by Scenario Learning and contains a number of multimedia exercises that present staff with environmental health and safety issues prompting them to react and make decisions geared toward their own job environments.

The SafeSchools online training fits into VISTA 2010, the APS strategic plan, which calls for expanded online training courses and resources.

SafeSchools will help ensure safer working conditions and secure schools through increased staff training and awareness.
