North Middle School Health Sciences & Technology Campus recently hosted a community health fair in conjunction with medical professionals from CU-UNITE (Colorado Urban Underserved Interprofessional Health Training and Education).
Community members, families and staff members received free medical evaluations by graduate students from more than five educational programs at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Several eighth-grade students in the Aurora LIGHTS/Health Sciences Pathway at North constructed informational health education booths. Seventh-grade students also provided health career information.
This opportunity allowed students to serve their community, work together to gain perspective of other health professions and showcase skills these students have learned so far this school year.
