Dollar General Literacy Foundation Supports Literacy for APS Families

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation awarded Aurora Public Schools a $10,000 grant to support family literacy at six Title I schools. The foundation provides access to programs designed to ensure students of all ages are proficient in English and earn a high school diploma or GED.

The grant offers students and parents at Fulton, Kenton, Paris, Peoria, Sable and Virginia Court elementary schools unique learning opportunities at The Learning Source. Through this program, children and parents learn side by side and are encouraged to continue learning together outside of the classroom to enrich the educational environment in their homes.

Aurora Public Schools is proud to partner with the Dollar General Literacy Foundation and The Learning Source.

“It’s exciting to see the Dollar General Literacy Foundation’s outreach in action as we partner with organizations to further education and literacy and make a real difference in people’s lives.” – Rick Dreiling, Dollar General Chairman and CEO
