APS Celebrates the Edna and John W. Mosley P-8 Grand Opening

More than 800 parents, students and community members joined APS staff to celebrate the grand opening of the Edna and John W. Mosley P-8 on Oct. 1. Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan and Mosley family members were on hand to dedicate the new school.

Mosley P-8 is named in recognition of the important contributions made by the Mosleys to Aurora and the Aurora community. John Mosley was a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen during World War II, and Edna Mosley was the first African American to serve on the Aurora City Council.

The new school is located on the APS Community Campus near Airport Boulevard and 2nd Avenue. The school serves more than 900 students and will help alleviate overcrowding at elementary and P-8 schools in the area.
