One of the best events in APS throughout the school year has now built a name – and quite a reputation – for itself.
Gateway High School's annual Adapted Physical Education Basketball Game gives students with special needs a chance to show off their skills on the hardwood while their peers cheer them on. To add to the fun and create friendly competition, students from Aurora Central High School's adaptive physical education class suited up against the Olympians and helped to provide a festive atmosphere.
The teams tied 32-32 in a game witnessed by a packed gymnasium of students and staff. The event has helped bring a positive mindset to relationship building among all students and has become an occurrence everyone looks forward to.
