Aurora Central Senior Earns $22K Scholarship

Andy Guerrero - ACHSAs Aurora Public Schools wrapped up the first month of the 2016 spring semester, many upperclassmen began feverishly applying for college scholarships and financial aid. Students are taking the necessary steps to further their education and use the credentials they earn to help them progress.

One such student is Aurora Central High School's Andy Guerrero, who recently earned a 2016 Horatio Alger Association National Scholarship. The prestigious award will grant Guerrero $22,000 – an average of $5,500 per year – to apply toward the tuition at his selected college or university.

The Horatio Alger Association honors the achievements of outstanding individuals in our society who have succeeded in spite of adversity and who are committed to supporting young people in pursuit of increased opportunities through higher education.
