South Middle School students and staff have a heart for their school community!  South staff wore their ugly holiday sweaters on Dec. 14 while assembling winter food bags. Family Liaison Kim Diggs coordinated the collection of food and received an outpouring of support. Thanks to the generosity of our staff, students and community, 40 food bags were sent home with South families for winter break.

South’s administrative team fosters a positive culture of support and created time and space to for the entire staff to participate with this project. Dean of Students Brendan Netherton secured additional donations from CrossFit Barkada.  South staff stepped up by contributing time, personal resources and a South STRONG attitude.

Many students at South showed their Lobos pride by contributing non-perishable food items to help peers in need, and South STRONG student leadership also assisted with assembly and distribution.

Very special thanks to our neighbors at the Parkview United Church of Christ and church mission team member Christina Brown.
