Students from high schools across the state are finding out just how much fun competitive sports can be, even if they aren't on the school's varsity team.

Many APS campuses, including Aurora Central, Gateway and Rangeview high schools, have assembled basketball teams of students with special needs to help expose them to the world of sports. Not only are these student-athletes learning about the game, they're representing themselves and APS in a positive light. The students are tasting victory and recently, Gateway earned first place in the 2017 Colorado High School Adapted Basketball Tournament, defeating Greeley Central High School 22-16.

All students in APS have unique abilities that we must recognize and engage, and the district is proud to provide platforms for them to showcase their talents. Congratulations, Olys!
