Sixth Avenue Elementary School recently partnered with Operation Warm and FedEx Cares to provide students with brand new winter coats. Prior to the coat presentation, a handful of students expressed their gratitude with song.
“We are grateful for partnerships such as this, which allow us to provide for our students in ways that are not normally possible at the school level,” said Assistant Principal Dana Tucker. “As a result, our kids will be warmer and more confident as they continue their education here at Sixth Avenue and into the future.”
Operation Warm: Coats For Kids Foundation provides new winter coats to children in need by partnering with other organizations like FedEx Cares. Operation Warm has provided love and warmth to 2.5 million children across North America.
“We believe in the power of a coat,” Operation Warm Public Relations Coordinator Lauren Holloway said. “Not only can a coat give warmth to a child, but also the self-confidence, peer-acceptance and self-esteem to improve their school attendance and overall wellness.”
Thank you Operation Warm and FedEx for bringing smiles and happiness to our community. #morethanacoat
