Denver Broncos Awarding Generous Grant to Aurora Central Trojans

Aurora Central High School Football Players

At Aurora Public Schools, we believe community partnerships provide vital resources and opportunities for students and their families. This week, students and staff at Aurora Central High School received exciting news thanks to several community partners! The Denver Broncos, NFL Foundation and LISC Corporation are awarding a $250,000 grant to the school. In addition, the school is also receiving a $50,000 grant from USA Football.

The money will be used to install a synthetic turf field on the school’s campus. The APS Construction Management and Support Team is working with the school to determine an installation timeline for the field.

Aurora Central’s new field will not only benefit many programs at the school including football, soccer and physical education classes, but will also benefit the Aurora community as a whole. The field gets substantial use from community soccer leagues, the Aurora Parks and Recreation Department and Special Olympics.

APS Athletics Director Mike Krueger along with the district Grants Department started the grant process for the turf field two years ago. We are grateful for their efforts in helping the school and to our community partners for providing the funds to build the new field.
