APS Board Authorizes Mill Levy Override for November Ballot

At its Aug. 21 meeting, the APS Board of Education authorized a mill levy override question to be placed on the November 2018 ballot. If approved, the mill levy would provide up to $35 million annually to invest in key areas that support student health, safety and learning such as:

  • Expanding staff and training dedicated to student mental health
  • Increasing pay to recruit and retain high-quality teachers
  • Expanding after-school learning programs for K-5 elementary students
  • Adding seat belts on buses
