As you're out shopping for the holidays, consider helping some compassionate students at Vaughn Elementary with their school supply drive.
The idea started when teacher Rachael Ribota recently shared a lesson with her 5th grade students about universal human rights. One topic discussed was how all people should have the right to an education. The students decided they wanted to do something to ensure more students across the country are able to access education.
The class came up with the idea for a school supply drive and has already collected multiple items. The students are collecting any school supplies, but are especially looking for notebooks, folders and pencils. The items will be donated to the Kids in Need Foundation, an organization that distributes free supplies to schools throughout the United States.
Donations can be dropped off at Vaughn Elementary (1155 Vaughn St. Aurora, CO 80011) through Friday, Dec. 7.
