Equipped with only acrylic paint, wooden brushes and uncoated white paper, 4th grade students at Tollgate Elementary transformed your friendly-neighborhood animals into wonderful works of art.
Tollgate students recently paid a visit to the Aurora Animal Shelter and learned about the many services it provides to its furry residents. Afterwards, students selected an animal from the shelter to paint and turn into a professional notecard. In an effort to raise funds for the shelter, these notecards will be available for purchase at Tollgate by friends, family and community members alike.
Through this expeditionary learning opportunity, students learned the significance of empathy and how to make a difference in their community.
A pack of 10 notecards costs $5 and all proceeds will go back into the shelter to benefit and support their four-legged friends.
