APS Identifies Gifted Performers at 3rd Annual Theatre Festival

One of our core beliefs in Aurora Public Schools is that every student has unique abilities that we must recognize and engage. Students who excel on the stage recently had the opportunity to showcase their abilities at the 3rd annual APS Theatre Festival.

The festival is a two-day event designed to identify students who are gifted or high potential in the performing arts. Nearly 50 elementary, middle and high school students participated. Each student could show their skills in a variety of performance genres including improv, prepared monologues, character analysis and musical theater.

All of the performances were judged by local theater professionals. The festival was held at the Community College of Aurora's Fine Arts Building.
