The Aurora Public Schools Preschool Program is accepting online preschool screenings for the 2021-22 school year. The screening process is also open for children to be considered for attending the rest of the 2020-21 school year.
Our preschools provide high-quality early learning opportunities for students. Children who attend high-quality preschools enter kindergarten with better pre-reading skills, larger vocabularies and stronger basic math skills than those who do not.
All children ages 3 or 4 on or before October 1, 2021 are age-eligible for the APS Preschool Program. APS offers preschool classes at 33 elementary schools, four child development centers and eight community child care sites. Most APS schools offer half-day preschool.
In order for a child to be considered for the APS Preschool Program, the child’s parent or legal guardian must complete the online screening process. Online screening for the APS Preschool Program is a three-step process:
1. Complete the online preschool screening at ece.aurorak12.org.
2. Upon placement from our Early Childhood Education Department, register your child online at admissions.aurorak12.org.
3. Virtually enroll your child in his or her school of placement.
The APS Preschool Program has limited availability. Participation in this three-step process does not guarantee placement. Current preschool students returning as grade P4, and current preschool students advancing to kindergarten in August 2021, do not need to be re-registered. For screening details, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
