Thank You, APS Teachers, Nurses and Mental Health Workers

May is an exciting and eventful month! In addition to it being the last month of spring, it includes the last day of school, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, and more. There is so much to look forward to and APS is especially thrilled about celebrating National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 3-7), National Nurses Week (May 6-12) and National Mental Health Awareness Month!

When the coronavirus pandemic hit, the vital roles that our teachers, nurses and mental health team play in our community were indisputable. Not only did these heroes in our district go above and beyond their calls of duty to ensure every student continued to shape a successful future, they exceeded all expectations in tending to an even wider range of our community’s needs.

Our dedicated teachers learned new methods of engagement to continue inspiring curiosity and a lifelong love of learning both remotely and in the classroom. Our knowledgeable nurses helped us maintain health and safety in our schools as students and staff returned to buildings. Our caring mental health professionals provided useful tools for the community to overcome many challenges.

Please join us in thanking APS teachers, nurses and mental health workers! Share with them the many reasons they inspire you, give them an elbow bump and thank them for the significant impact they have made. You may consider singing their praises via your social media platforms using the hashtags #ThankATeacherCO, #NursesRock and #MentalHealthMatters. No matter the method, we are confident that your gesture will be most appreciated.

We thank every APS teacher, nurse and mental health professional for their incredible work and continued dedication to serving the APS community. We are honored to serve alongside such selfless individuals.
