1. Request from the Aurora Economic Development Council Staff Responsible - Dr. Adams

The Aurora Economic Development Council is requesting a tax incentive for a business seeking to relocate its warehouse facility to Aurora. Details of the proposal were provided under separate cover, August 6, and must remain confidential.

Recommendation: The Board of Education approve a tax incentive proposal for use by the Aurora Economic Development Council in their efforts to attract a warehouse facility to Aurora and direct that its legal representatives enter into negotiations aimed at arriving at an agreement should the company decide that Aurora has been selected as the site for the operation.

In that event, the Superintendent is authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the District provided there is no net loss of funds to the District.

4. District Personnel Performance Evaluation Council Staff Responsible - Mr. Van Gytenbeek

Administrators in the District are evaluated pursuant to a document entitled the Guidelines for the Performance Evaluation of Certificated and Classified Administrators in the Aurora Public Schools. District administration believes that certain changes to the Guidelines should be considered. Under Colorado law, any changes to the Guidelines require consultation with certain persons specified by law and with the "School District Personnel Performance Evaluation Council.@ The School District Personnel Performance Evaluation Council must be appointed by the Board of Education and must include at least one teacher, one administrator, and one principal from the School District; one resident from the School District who is a parent of a child attending a district school; and one resident of the School District who is not a parent with a child in the District.

District administration hereby proposes the names of the following persons to serve on the School District Personnel Performance Evaluation Council:

1. Ballot Resolution for November Election Staff Responsible - Mr. Maiocco

(Attachment IV-D-1)

The Board of Education, at the August 6, 2002, Board meeting, approved placing before the voters of Aurora Public Schools, a bond issue to be voted on in November 2002. Before the Board is a resolution that states the wording of the bond issue as it will appear on the November 2002 election ballot.

Recommendation: The Board of Education approve the resolution as presented.
