Acceleration

Early Access

Early Access is a program in which highly gifted students are admitted into kindergarten or first grade at a younger age than typical state age requirements allow. This a grade acceleration opportunity.

Twice Exceptional (2e)

Twice-exceptional students are those who are identified as gifted AND are identified with a state/federal qualified disability that qualifies them for either an IEP or a 504 plan.

Advanced Learning Plans

Advanced Learning Plans (ALPs) are housed in Infinite Campus. ALP goals are strength-based goals that are aligned with the standards for gifted education and/or specific content areas. Both academic and affective goals are found in an ALP, which is a living document that is updated as each student student grows and develops. Each ALP is a collaborative effort between student, parents, and educators. ALPs are updated annually and are housed in Infinite Campus and the student's cumulative folder. ALP goal attainment is progress monitored quarterly (with each grading period), typically by the classroom teacher.
