P-TECH: Offering Pathways to High-Skill Jobs of the Future
Posted on 01/06/2023

Aurora Public Schools is proud of the work we do with our community to break down barriers so that students can engage to their fullest potential and shape their own paths forward.

Through Blueprint APS, we are creating a new opportunity for students through Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools, also known as P-TECH. P-TECH is an innovative partnership between a school district, community college(s) and one or more local high-growth industry employers.

Students begin their P-TECH program in 9th grade and attend for six years. By the time students graduate, they earn both their high school diplomas and industry-recognized associate degrees.

In May 2022, the Board of Education approved the opening of a new One Health Innovation Center at North Middle School, which will include space for P-TECH as well as One Health programming for students in grades K-12. This P-TECH opportunity is anticipated to open in Fall 2024.

A second P-TECH opportunity will be provided as ConstrucTECH. In this program, students will earn their Associate Degree in Construction Management by the end of their sixth year. During Fall 2023, this program will be offered to Gateway High School and Vista PEAK Preparatory students. It will open to additional interested high school students beginning in Fall 2024. Please note that interested families of 8th-grade students should apply when the application opens Feb. 1, 2023.
