Superintendent Michael Giles, Jr. speaks with a studentThank you for your ideas, suggestions and feedback during Superintendent Michael Giles, Jr.'s first round of Listening Tour Sessions and through the Listening Tour Survey.

As Superintendent Mike has shared with many of you, he envisions Aurora Public Schools as truly being The Destination District. This means a place where:

  • Students are valued, seen, safe and are thriving academically, socially and emotionally.
  • Educators are valued, seen, safe and thriving. They want to stay in Aurora Public Schools for their career.
  • Students are proficient at all grade levels and graduates are prepared for college and/or career.
  • Parents and guardians are partners and engaged. Parents and guardians keep students here.
  • Local partnerships are enhanced and sustained, providing greater opportunities for students.
  • We recruit, hire and retain the most talented educators.

Thank you for your thorough and thoughtful input in helping us become that Destination District!

Superintendent Listening Tour Continues

Superintendent Michael Giles, Jr. is excited to host another round of listening sessions! From the first round in 2023, our community laid out a strong set of values while sharing what they thought would make Aurora Public Schools a “Destination District." Now, with this next round of listening sessions, we will share what those values are. In addition, we will ask our community: If we truly lived by these values, what would we accomplish in five years from now?

Feedback from our community will help shape future strategic planning efforts, so it is important that we hear from you!
