Industry Recognized Certificates/Credentials
Students have the potential to earn an industry recognized certificates and credentials through their experiences in our CTE programs. The following certificates and credentials could include the following:
Employability Skills
While enrolled in the Business Management and Marketing program, students will be expected to work on various employability skills that could be related to the industry recognized certificate/credentials listed above. See some examples of how students will work on these skills below:
- Communication Skills:
Students will be able to convey information effectively, both verbally and in writing. This includes listening, presenting ideas, and expressing thoughts clearly and concisely.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Students will be able to gather and evaluate information to make informed decisions and solve complex problems. This includes conducting market research to identify target audiences and market trends.
- Adaptability and Flexibility:
Adaptability and flexibility refer to the capacity to adjust to changing circumstances and work effectively in various situations and environments. This could include adapting marketing strategies in response to shifts in consumer behavior or market conditions.
CTSO Applications
Students who enroll in a course within the Business Management and Marketing program have the opportunity to engage in in a CTSO. Below are some potential applications to a CTSO that student could be involved when participating in this CTE program :
- FBLA: Business Communications
Business Communication provides members with the opportunity to gain knowledge about communication in the business world. This competitive event consists of an objective test. This event aims to inspire members to learn about communication skills in the business world.
- FBLA: Business Management
Business Management provides members with the opportunity to gain knowledge around management themes. This competitive event consists of an objective test and a role play scenario.
- DECA: Career Development Project
The Career Development Project uses the project management process to promote/educate the knowledge and skills needed for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, management and entrepreneurship. Examples include career fairs, summer boot camps, professional dress seminars, resume development workshops, career exploration initiatives, mock interviews, and career workplace re-entry and mentor programs.
