Parents and students will find International Baccalaureate programming at Hinkley High School, East Middle School, and Elkhart Elementary School.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Program is a K-12 program. Elementary students (grades K-5) will study the Primary Years Program (PYP); students in grades 6-10 will study the Middle Years Program (MYP); high school students in grades 11 and 12 have the choice between the Diploma Program (DP) or the Career Pathways Program (CP). Each program offers a rigorous academic framework that empowers excellence in character, achievement and a contribution to a better world.
- Schools offering International Baccalaureate Programming will work to foster equitable access to education for all students. Students studying in an IB Program can earn college credits, industry certifications and career experiences that will help them to be ready for the changing demands of the future. The IB Program gives students distinct advantages by building their critical thinking skills, nurturing their curiosity and their ability to solve complex problems.
- Teachers in the International Baccalaureate Program are committed to creating rich learning environments that value diversity, fosters critical thinking and encourages creative problem solving while empowering every student to become a confident, compassionate, globally-minded learner.
- Students in the International Baccalaureate Program will be inspired to think beyond the four walls of their classroom to become the type of student who will thrive in life. Students in an IB program will take charge of their learning while working collaboratively with peers.
IB provides students with a balanced education in languages, social studies, sciences, mathematics and electives. The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a global leader in international education—developing inquiring, knowledgeable, confident, and caring young people who will want to take ownership in their own learning. IB instruction is divided into four programmes:
- The Diploma Programme (DP) for high school juniors and seniors, grades 11 and 12;
- The Career-related Programme (CP) for high school juniors and seniors, grades 11 and 12;
- The Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students in grades 6 through 10;
- The Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students in preschool through 5th grade.
Students at International Baccalaureate® (IB) World Schools are given a unique, challenging and diverse education. IB learners are:

- drive their own learning
- a core part in educational programs that can lead them to some of the highest-ranking universities around the world
- more culturally aware through the development of a second language
