Aurora Public Schools Board of Education to Hold Meetings on the Proposal to Close Boston and Jamaica Elementary Schools

The Aurora Public Schools Board of Education will discuss the proposal to close Boston and Jamaica elementary schools at its next two board meetings. This proposal would ease overcrowding by closing the two schools in summer 2005 and reassigning students to larger schools in the area.

On Tuesday, April 6, 2004, the board will hold a one-hour working session with district staff to review the proposal. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the APS administration building at 1085 Peoria Street.

The board of education will make a decision on the Boston and Jamaica proposal on Tuesday, April 20, 2004. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the APS administration building, 1085 Peoria Street.
