Aurora Public Schools to Break Ground on K-8 School

Aurora Public Schools will soon break ground on the district’s first kindergarten- through eighth-grade school. The school, located in the Murphy Creek development in southeast Aurora, will be funded with bond dollars approved by district voters in 2002.

“The new K-8 school will benefit our growing community and allow us to build long-term relationships with students and their families,” said Suzanne Morey, principal of the K-8 school.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the new school will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 9. The school site is adjacent to the community recreation center at Old Tom Morris Road and Louisiana Parkway. The school is scheduled to open in August 2005.
