Prominent Golf Professionals Teach the Business of Golf

When thinking about golf the average student usually envisions a little white ball, clubs and green grass. On Feb. 1 from 9:15-11:15 a.m., prominent Colorado golf professionals will help Gateway High School business students understand golf from a business perspective. Professionals from the golf community will discuss the fundamentals of running a golf course and how the core values of golf can be used in business. Scheduled to speak are:

  • Anne Kelly, CU golf coach
  • Tom Woodard, director of Denver Golf
  • Doug Wert, UCCS, golf management program
  • Lynne DiMartino, PGA assistant Pro City Park
  • Sara Silva, former DU player, MBA student at University of Denver
  • Berith Jacobsen, businesswoman, board member First Tee
  • Ann Allcott, businesswoman

Gateway High School is located at 1300 S. Sable Blvd. in Aurora. Gateway has a diverse student population with an enrollment of approximately 1,700.
