Aurora Central's Robotics Team to Compete Regionally

Aurora Central High School's “MegaBites” team will put their technology skills to the test at the Colorado Regional FIRST Robotics Competition, March 24 and 26. The event will be held at the University of Denver's Ritchie Center, 2201 E. Asbury Ave. FIRST, For Inspiration of Science and Technology, is a national non-profit organization dedicated to developing student interest in technology and engineering.

High school teams throughout Colorado and four surrounding states will compete for regional awards and a spot at the national competition being held in Atlanta next month. The “MegaBites” team designed a robot named “Fang Shui” for this year's entry.

"The students are proud of what they've put together. We had six weeks to design, build and test our robot," said Gayle Bintner, the MegaBites faculty advisor. Teams will be judged on their robots' effectiveness as well as their collaborative strength and determination.
