All That Jazz

The Rangeview Jazz Band will represent Colorado in the World Championship Jazz Band Cup in Branson, MO April 20-23.  One outstanding jazz band from each state is invited to participate in this event.

State Representative Morgan Carroll will honor the band by reading a formal proclamation to the members of the Colorado General Assembly at 9 a.m. on April 19.
"There are a lot of quality jazz programs in our state.  To know that we were recommended by our peers is truly flattering.  It is nice to know that someone outside of our program recognizes our students' hard work, commitment and dedication," Rangeview band director Randy Gregory said.

The band will perform at the beginning of the general session, and then board buses for Missouri.  At the Jazz Band Cup, world-renowned music educators, composers, choreographers, professional musicians and entertainers will lead the nation's best high school jazz bands in instructional clinics.

Rangeview students are excited about the opportunity to represent Colorado.  "Traveling to Branson will give me the opportunity to understand music in other places.  Rarely do I get the chance to represent my school, much less my entire state," student Brett Yacuta said.
