School Based Dental Clinics and Oral Health Outreach

Regular dental care is important for children of all ages. Doctors and dentists recommend the first dental visit by age 1 or when the first teeth come in. This provides us with the best chance to prevent cavities and improve the health of children’s teeth and gums.

Children's Hospital Colorado Dentistry program partners with select schools in APS to bring oral health services to preschool, kindergarten, and 1st graders.

Children’s Hospital Colorado

Aurora Public Schools (APS) has an ongoing information sharing agreement with Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO). This agreement allows APS School Nurses to obtain access to select portions of student's medical records maintained by CHCO's electronic health record (EHR).
